Key points of green and high-quality blueberry production technology

Blueberry Greenhouse
The pH value of soil suitable for blueberries is 4.5~5.5, and the soil organic matter content is 8%~12%, at least not less than 5%. For soil types that do not meet the growth requirements of blueberries, soil improvement should be carried out before planting. Soil improvement includes adjusting the soil pH value and increasing the soil organic matter content, both of which can be done at the same time.
(1) Adjustment of soil pH. The soil pH in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and other regions is generally greater than 6. Sulfur powder should be applied throughout the garden to adjust the pH. Soil testing should be conducted before adjusting the pH. For every unit decrease in pH, 20-40 kg of sulfur powder should be applied per mu in sandy loam soil, and 40-80 kg of sulfur powder should be applied per mu in loam soil.
(2) Soil organic matter adjustment. When the soil organic matter content is less than 5%, 15 m of peat soil, 15 m of sawdust and 5 m of decomposed cow dung or sheep dung can be applied per mu. All of them should be spread on the ground and deep-turned with a rotary tiller to a depth of more than 20 cm.
Remove large rocks and other debris, and set up drainage ditches. Use a ridging machine to make ridges, with a height of 30-40 cm and a width of 100 cm.
Planting density
The recommended row spacing for northern high-bush is 25m x 1.5m, the recommended row spacing for southern high-bush is 2m x 1m, and the recommended row spacing for eye-free is 4m x 2m. The actual planting density is determined according to the characteristics of the variety and the conditions of the planting plot.
Planting period
Both spring and autumn planting are possible. Spring planting time is mid-to-late March, and autumn planting time is early October. Use 23-year-old seedlings.
Planting method
Dig a 30cm x 30cm x 30cm planting hole on the ridge surface. Select a seedling with 3-5 branches and a well-developed root system and put it into the planting hole. Straighten the seedling, backfill the soil, lift the seedling upwards, tamp the soil with your feet, and water it with 1 liter. After the water has completely seeped down, cover the soil and tamp it down. After planting, water it enough to establish roots.
