Technical Parameters

Hydroponics (Hydroponics) is a new type of plant soilless culture, also known as nutrient liquid culture. its core is to infiltrate plant roots directly into nutrient solution. this nutrient solution can replace soil and provide plants with growth factors such as water, nutrients and oxygen, so that plants can grow normally.

In soil, organic matter is decomposed by soil microorganisms and animals to form mineral nutrients needed for plant growth. The water in hydroponic vegetables where soil roots infiltrate in nutrient solution dissolves these mineral nutrients (usually in ionic state) so that they can be absorbed by plant roots. In order for plants to achieve balanced nutrition, all kinds of substances in the soil must conform to the best proportion, and unfortunately such a "perfect" soil is rare in nature. After using hydroponic method, plants can directly absorb nutrients and water in nutrient solution through roots, and people can manually mix nutrient balanced solution to realize plant balanced "diet ", which is obviously much easier than finding perfect soil. Because these solutions are packed in containers, can be recycled, will not flow into the soil and have an impact on the environment, safe, reliable and sustainable.

There are four common hydroponics technologies, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages, and has a large number of practical production applications. There are some varieties in each way, but most of them are different.

Deep Flow Technique (DFT)

Nutrient Liquid Membrane Technology (NFT)

Floating Capillary Hydrophones for short FCH cultivation techniques

Fog culture technology also known as spray culture, aerosol culture (Aeroponics)

Deep Liquid Flow Technology (DFT)

More used in early plant factories and greenhouse facilities such as agricultural planting.

DFT advantages are:

1) Hanging cultivation. The plant is suspended in the planting plate, some roots are inserted into the nutrient solution, some roots are airborne in the gap between the nutrient level and the planting plate, and there is the property of half water culture and half gas culture, which is easy to solve the contradiction of water and gas in the root system.

2) Liquid layer depth. The root system extends to the deeper liquid layer, and the single plant accounts for more liquid. Because the amount of liquid is large and deep, the concentration of nutrient solution (including total salt, nutrients), dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature and water are not easy to change sharply, which provides a stable growth environment for roots. This is the outstanding advantage of deep liquid water culture.

3) Nutrient solution circulation flow. The circulation flow of nutrient solution can increase the dissolved oxygen content in nutrient solution, eliminate the local accumulation of harmful metabolites (most obviously physiological acidity and alkalinity), eliminate the difference of nutrient concentration between root surface and root nutrient solution, so that nutrients can be sent to root surface in time to meet the needs of plants. Therefore, even the cultivation of swamp plants or the formation of oxygen transport tissue plants, it is necessary to circulate the nutrient solution.

4) There are many kinds of crops suitable for cultivation. With the exception of tuber and tuber crops, almost all fruits and vegetables can be cultivated.

Disadvantages: the initial investment is large, the amount of liquid is high, it is difficult to achieve three-dimensional cultivation.
