Generally speaking, cucumbers prefer warm temperatures and are not cold-hardy. Their maximum heat tolerance is approximately 45 degrees Celsius, and their minimum cold tolerance is approximately 10-12 degrees Celsius. The specific effects of temperature on cucumbers are as follows:
(1) When the temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius, prolonged physiological activities of cucumbers will lead to death; they will gradually stop.

(2) When the temperature exceeds 32 degrees Celsius, the respiration of green cucumbers increases, and photosynthesis begins to decline.

(3)When the temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius, the respiration of green cucumbers consumes more than the output of photosynthesis.
(4) When the temperature exceeds 40 degrees Celsius, photosynthesis declines drastically, and cucumber growth stops.

(5) When the temperature reaches 45 degrees Celsius, the leaves will lighten in color within 3 hours, causing male flowers to fail to bloom or female flowers to turn yellow, easily resulting in deformed cucumbers.
6) When the temperature reaches 50 degrees Celsius, cucumbers will stop respiring within one hour, exhibiting sunscald and gradually leading to their drying and death.

(7) Cucumbers have different temperature requirements at different stages. For example, the suitable temperature during the fruiting period is 28-30 degrees Celsius, while the suitable temperature before fruiting is slightly lower, at 26-28 degrees Celsius.
It's important to clarify that the temperature requirements for cucumbers mentioned above are not absolute. For example, acclimatization during the seedling stage can improve the cucumber's cold resistance; conversely, favorable environmental conditions such as strong sunlight, high humidity, high carbon dioxide concentration, and soil rich in organic fertilizer during high temperatures can increase the cucumber's heat resistance.
